Case Study: SDK Redesign for developers
The developers on the team quickly spun up a new app as an environment testing ground for our many partnering studios creating games. There were many tedious UX issues with it, and we knew that the product needed some tender loving care. I was tasked with optimizing the process of what developers needed to do:
Quickly and easily upload their game versions to our servers in a self-serve way
Instantly access their latest game via the SDK app to mimic the same environment as our Testflight app
Immediately see troubleshooting issues after running game: easily see the ‘diff’
Unique complexity with the Oooh platform dynamic where games need to export specific assets for game hosts and game audience members
Role as UX Lead
User researcher: interviewed developers
Understand how the back-end functions
Created strategic vision along with director level engineers for product
Wireframe development, high-fidelity designs
Wireframes and user flow sample
In the fast-paced environment at Oooh, I iterated several times at the wireframe stage. Each iteration was reviewed by key developers to provide feedback on envisioning how they would use the new SDK flow.
